I worked for many years as a Mathematics tutor, teaching University and High school students to excel in the area of Mathematics. During the Summer breaks, I would often find temporary jobs working in industry, getting hands-on experience in Accounting Departments of companies both at home and abroad. As a Mathematician I was trained to recognize patterns. What seemed to be the common denominator for me was that companies expend a great deal of manpower doing the same tasks repeatedly. Whereas in reality the only thing that is new from one week to the next is the data, the methods being applied are much the same! The data may have implications and conditions associated with it, but essentially the wheel need not be re-invented week after week.

Large corporations have software tailored to the needs of their business and I felt it would be great to be able to bring this capability to Small and Medium businesses. The question then became price!

Excel from Microsoft provides a front-end or user-interface with which much of today’s workforce is already familiar. Beyond familiarity however, it represents for the programmer an opportunity to create an application rapidly* without spending much time on creating the design of the user-interface. This is good news for a small business owner requiring a custom-made bespoke application, as the time spent on front-end design is vastly reduced. My aim is to bring to the Small/Medium-sized business solutions that can keep them competitive with their larger more established counter-parts. While reducing the time taken to complete processes, they remain competitive by spending the time that they have on what is most valuable; the growth of their business.
